My Experience on the Candida Cleanse
Posted in Tips for Living with Candida, Uncategorized on 3 December 2009

I started the Candida Clear on Sunday night when I made the yummy stir-fry with almond butter sauce. It’s now Wednesday, and the die-off is hitting me pretty hard. I’m irritable, and I had headaches off and on today, even though I drank a lot of water. I’ve also had my favorite smoothie for breakfast [...]

Testing out the Candida Clear Cleanse

I admit it. I got weak. I was feeling good again and thought that it wouldn’t hurt if I ate some of my favorite foods. Then I ate more of those things and added more and more of the bad things. Before I knew it, I was off my Candida diet and back feeling horrible.
I’ve [...]

My Energy Go To Favorite

When you suffer from candida, you usually lack energy. The yeast drains your energy, which can also lead to depression, anxiety and many other maladies. Because I’m a single mom going back to school while trying to earn a living, I often get worn out. I take the supplements I need to keep my stomach [...]

“It’s All in Your Head”
Posted in Tips for Living with Candida on 18 August 2008

When stress levels get high, my symptoms get worse. My stomach gets gurgly, I get bloated and gassy, and I’m tired and easily irritated. The worst part is that I’ve had these symptoms for 12 years. They started a few months after getting married. The start could’ve been the result of me getting out of grad school with a degree in Music and wondering, “What now?” Or they could’ve started because my gut knew that my new marriage was wrong, but I didn’t listen to my gut. Because I didn’t know what was wrong with me, I thought I was a freak and that my stomach problems were all in my head. I thought my body acted irrationally, and I didn’t know how to feel “normal” again.

Giving up the Carbs

I’ve told a few people about my health condition and the changes I’ve been making in my lifestyle. The thing that my Japanese friends always say is that they can’t give up rice. I understand the feeling.

I was raised on rice. Our family used the rice cooker almost every day. The only times we didn’t have rice was when we had spaghetti or S.O.S. (creamed ground beef over mashed potatoes). All other times, we had rice. If we had pork chops and applesauce, there was rice. If we had meatloaf, there was rice. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because I get stuffing and rice with gravy over it.

I’m going through a lot right now. I’m overwhelmed. I feel defeated emotionally. I’ve been cheating on my diet. I was eating so well before, and now I’m trying to get back on track. I’m going through a divorce, am a single mom who’s about to go back to school in a couple weeks, moved this past weekend to a new city (my old hometown) after 18 years by the ocean, and I’m trying to do my freelance web design before my son wakes up in the morning since he no longer naps.

Because my son’s daycare was closed for the week, I decided that the middle of July would be a great time for a trip to Disneyland in Anaheim. I’ll never do that again.

Two things drive Candida: sugar or anything that turns to sugar, and mold or anything containing mold or fungus. These things need to be avoided during the cleanse.
